Kashgar to K2

Day 01:
Arrive Beijing
Beijing/Urumqi
On arrival, take a short rest at the hotel before flying on to Urumqi where you are greeted and transferred to the hotel to check in.

Day 02:
Urumqi/Kashgar-B, L, D
Fly on to Kashgar. Visit Id Kah Mosque and old section of the town.

Day 03:
Kashgar/Yarkand-B, L, D
After breakfast prepare for trek and do some sightseeing; visit local Tomb and Mosque. After Lunch, drive to Yarkand. Yarkand is 200 kilometers from Kashgar at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level.

Day 04:
Yarkand/Yilik-B, L, D
Back on the Jeep, climb up into the rolling Kun Lun Mountains, driving 320 Kilometers to arrive at Yilik in late afternoon. Overnight at Camp at altitude of 3700 meters.

Day 05:
Yilik/Karyar-B, L, D
After the camel drivers load their charges, trek 3-5 hours along dry river beds, arrive at Karyar Camp, so called Junction Camp.

Day 06:
Karyar/Aghil-B, L, D
Second day of walking takes us to the foot of the Aghil pass (4870m), which is the crossing point on the ridge separating the Yarkand and Shaksgam River watersheds. Camp below the pass. Total trekking time for the day approx. 8 hours.

Day 07:
On the trek-B, L, D
The ascent to the pass takes 5 to 6 hours and the view from the saddle offers your first sight of the Karakoram peaks: K2, Broads and the Gesherbrums. You can also clearly see the route of next couple of days.

Day 08:
On the trek-B, L, D
Today’s trekking is bit shorter but you will have to ride a couple of times on a camel to ford the Shaksgam river - during the height of the Summer in July and early August the river is impossible to cross; in winter season the river is dry. During the final approach to base camp there are spectacular views of the north ridge of K2. Camp at riverside. Trek total 4 to 6 hours.

Day 09:
On the trek-B, L, D
Today’s trek crosses over Hong Liu Tan River to Base Camp, Sughet Jangal, total time around 6 to 8 hours.

Day 10/12: 
On the trek-B, L, D
There are many possibilities for explorations in this area. Spend a couple nights at Sughet (3850 meters), trek up to the foot of K2 glacier.

Day 13/17:
Trek back to Yilik.

Day 18/19:
Yilik /Kashgar-B, L, D
Full day return from Yilik to Kashgar.

Day 19:
Kashgar/Urumqi/Beijing
Fly to Urumqi then connect to a flight back to Beijing.

Overnight in Beijing.

Day 20:
Depart Beijing
